Is the Smart Watch ready for Prime Time?

With manufacturers working overtime to pump out wearable electronics, do you feel that they are worth your time and money? For the last 2+ years, I have used my trusty ipod nano with various wristbands depending on what I'm doing.  I also have a Bluetooth adapter which works great with my wireless headphones or the car.  With 8GB of storage, long battery life, and it's diminutive size (even with the Bluetooth adapter) I find that the Nano still suits my needs. Samsung Gear Fit Samsung Gear 2 That said, this year, the Samsung Gear Fit has piqued my interest.  While pricing has yet to be determined, it finally looks like Samsung may be on the right track for wearable electronics.  The original Gear watch was clunky, expensive, and way too expensive for its limited functionality.  The Gear 2 has made some progress to make the watch itself more useful, but without a price announcement, it will probably be too expensive for its functionality and ...

After rumors and the occasional leaks this morning, Samsung has finally unveiled the Galaxy S5.  The redesign (which Samsung is calling modern glam look) includes new colors, a new style of back cover, an improved camera, and better battery life.  Read on for the basic run down on today's announcement. Galaxy S 5 The current colors shown are black, white, copper gold-ish, and blue. Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat leaked for the Galaxy S4

As per this thread on XDA and Sammobile  , the S4 is another step closer to seeing an update to Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat.  Visible changes are white status icons (instead of the Gingerbread green that has been the default for quite a while), and a new camera shortcut on the lock screen. I have my doubts about this chart that has been floating around the internet. According to Sammobile, there are also some performance increases in benchmarks and an improved landscape keyboard.   Based on their screenshots, the Touchwiz ui still looks very similar to what has been available previously versus the new Touchwiz from the upcoming Samsung Note Pro series. If you are the type that loves to flash test firmwares, then click on the links at the start of this article to download the firmware for testing.  Keep in mind that the leaked firmware is for the European model and is not intended for daily use.

Sprint Galaxy Note 2: Android 4.3 Review

I wonder if Jelly beans are that happy when they're about to be eaten? Just three years ago, Samsung popularized the "phablet" category with its "Note" series of extra large phones.  With the huge screens, large batteries, and S pen technology, the Note series have sold in the millions and are only rivaled in popularity by Samsung's other "S" flagships in the Android space and of course Apples iPhone. Originally released with an earlier version of Android Jellybean in late 2012, the Note 2 has only received minor updates and was stuck at version 4.1.2 for almost a year since Samsung decided to skip Android 4.2 altogether in favor of Android 4.3.  The result has been a long wait for the Note 2 to finally get its first "major" update since it has been released.   Read on for the differences that I've found. Transparency and new Samsung icons. The first minor difference that you will notice is the transparent status bar on ...
